The analysis of motor vehicle accidents often requires
a multi-disciplinary approach. For this reason we maintain a network
of experts in related fields to refer to as needed. We concentrate
our energies in our specialty of accident reconstruction and call
upon other professionals when additional related expertise is required.
In evaluating seat belt effectiveness, we analyse the occupant movements,
with and without seat belts, and then work with biomechanics experts
in their determinations of the potential for injury reduction.
Sometimes visibility and driver behaviour are critical factors in
evaluating accidents, as are the effects of alcohol consumption.
In such cases we work with experts in human factors and toxicology.
In accidents involving road design and maintenance problems, we
call upon civil engineers with expertise in road design and maintenance
practices.
When weather conditions are potential causal factors, we work with
experts in such fields as meteorology and climatology.The analysis
of mechanical failures sometimes requires that we have components
inspected by metallurgical laboratories.
